In cooperation with Grace Baptist Partnership, The Mathena Center for Church Revitalization is offering a 2-month church revitalization training experience (from June 7th-August 7th 2023) in parts of England and Scotland. A SBTS student will be assigned to a local church in process of revitalization under the mentorship of the current pastor of that congregation to learn, serve, contribute, and observe the day-to-day work of that church revitalization. Furthermore, the intern will experience additional pastoral ministry training with a focus on church revitalization under the leadership of Barry King.

General Information
Lodging and visa expenses are covered by the ministry partnership.
The summer intern is responsible for approximately $3,500 (for flight and living expenses).
This internship can provide SBTS students with 6 free elective credit hours. By “free elective credit hours” what is meant is that this internship will not meet any required courses, so any student who desires to do this internship for credit will want to ensure they have enough free elective credits available to them. Tuition fees are not included with the living expenses listed above, so students taking this internship for credit must also plan on paying class fees.
Pre- and Post- internship oversight provided by the Mathena Center.
The internship oversight while in the UK will be given by Grace Baptist Partnership.
We ask that applicants be either single or married without children.
Though this particular internship is for men only as it is specifically tailored towards training and equipping pastors, we encourage women who desire to serve in the UK to apply for a similar internship opportunity through another partner of the Mathena Center, 20schemes, here.
